While in Rayne we were hunting for a "local" Cajun restaurant for lunch. Our first stop was at a place that had white tablecloths and a pricey menu. NOPE this was not the experience we were looking for so we left searching for the place where locals go. Gabe's is that place! Great food at a good price! Most everything is prepared after you order. They did have lots of chicken cooked up under a warmer but what we could tell it wasn't staying there very long. Hubby and I ate there for lunch I got the frog legs and they were FANTASTIC very moist and lightly breaded. Unfortunately we are not going to be in town long enough for me to try everything BUT I have to go back and try the chicken it looked amazing.

My wife and I eat at Gabe's often rather than preparing meals at home. The food is always good and the friendly atmosphere make you feel more than welcome.

Trip Advisor got me here and the shrimp bo-boy and sweet lemonade will have me coming back! Conveniently located and easy to find this old school diner was just what I was looking for a quick bite for lunch. Full of locals so certain all seafood items are just as good as po-boy. Try it, you'll like it.

Awesome food! Pricey, but so worth it! Must try there hamburgers! Just wonderful food all around! Oh and did I mention the onion rings!!! omg!

During our winter near Titusville, FL last year we were introduced to our new favorite thing... fried pickle chips! Gabes is every bit as good as those we had in Florida! On top of that they have great fried chicken (double battered, crispy with great seasonings) and cole slaw. For a fast food restaurant, Gabes offers great fried chicken at a reasonable price.

I found out that they have been open for 22 years and I've never heard of them. I have eaten at the Dairy Queen on one side, Sonic on the other side, and Frog City Cafe behind it. Little did I know that the best food in that area was in the little building right in the middle!

When we got there the parking lot was packed and the line when we walked in at 1:00 was 10 people deep . The line stayed 8-10 deep the entire time we were there, but I have to say the line goes REALLY FAST! There were three of us in our party. Two had burgers and one chicken. We all agreed that our food was fabulous, but watching people come out with other food we decided that next time we would try one of the play lunches or shrimp dinners because they looked even better!

Our meal today was a strong 5 out of 5, and we guarantee we will be back soon to try the other things on the menu. The prices are so great that it almost pays for your gas to go to Gabe's rather than eating in west Lafayette or Scott.

I had never eaten at Gabe's before, so I placed an order over the phone. I ordered a shrimp poboy and some fries. The poboy was $4.99 and with the fries that total cost was about $6.50. When I arrived at Gabe's, I went inside to pay for my order. Come to find out, calling my order in and going inside were both unnecessary because they have a drive-through window. I noticed that they keep their fried chicken consistently stocked, and many people were eating inside. When I ate my shrimp poboy at home, I was impressed by the size of the poboy, the number of shrimp, and the good flavor for only $4.99. The fries also were very enjoyable, somewhat crisp on the outside but soft on the inside, my favorite kind. I definitely will be returning to this little gem in Rayne to give other menu items a try.

Love this place.. right across from the truck stop so it's very convenient for us. Always hot and fresh , friendly service never tried anything we did not like. Keep up the good work !

I have a love for good bacon cheese burgers. Gabes is in my top 3 from anywhere. The shrimp boat cant be beat. And is awesome people.

Gabe's is a great place I have been going to for many years. I am a big fan of their fried shrimp and fish

The cornerstone of Rayne! The iconic Gabe's restaurant located in the heart of Rayne is a quite delicious restaurant nonetheless. Surprisingly, the menu has a ton of selections, from Seafood gumbo, to fried pickles, to shrimp stew, and of course, fried chicken. A lot of the times I save myself time during the week from meal prepping and just order grilled chicken already prepared from Gabe's. This is a cheap and healthy option for life on the go!

The shrimp and the fish was perfect. I love family restaurants like this.

It was DOUBLE DELICIOUS....we had the left overs for dinner Saturday night, they were delicious also!!! My grandson, brother & I were in Rayne, LA for a family gathering and grandson wanted to eat. So we picked Gabe's best choice ever!!!!!

Loved it so much, my friends and I visited two days in a row while visiting Rayne. I recommend the shrimp po boy and the fried chicken.

Great authentic Cajun place to eat. Been there twice and no complaints! Great prices also.

Food is amazing! My kids & I just got catfish baskets. The fish is amazing and has a little kick but not too spicy for my kids, perfect. And the price is very fair, 4 people ate on $20 here. Thats less than what we spend on fast food.
